No, this is not ironic. Palm is a mini-Android phone (that works with iPhones, too, with a bit of finagling) that you can set up as a “companion” phone—i.e. you can use your normal phone number. I use my Palm when I want to leave the house and stay connected (and be able to get a Lyft) without taking my giant smartphone and all its stupid attention-sucking apps with me. (And also, Palm has something called “Life Mode” that gives you better control over notifications than most other operating systems.)
